I've been on deviantart for 20 years. I was one of the first artists posting anime style artwork here, I got a Daily Deviation with an anime illustration that got many artists mad at the time but I stuck around, maybe for the memories/nostalgia I think. Today I made a decision. I cannot, in good conscience, keep my gallery up anymore knowing that my artwork, which has been around for a very long time, was probably used in the learning algorithm for AI art by default. This is violating and invasive even if the decision was "reverted", the damage is still done. The fact they've actually considered the implementation of this feature is condemnable. I find it extremely disrespectful that they're endorsing AI art when their platform was (and is still, I think) a place where amateur and professional artists can coexist and find art related professions.
